The Academy equips TVET institutions with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to design and deliver inclusive, industry-driven dual training programs that empower young women and men for meaningful employment.
To anchor dual training as a core feature of Kenya’s TVET system by building the capacity of institutions, fostering collaboration with industry, and ensuring that training meets the demands of a changing labour market.
Through the Academy, we aim to:
Strengthen institutional capacity for designing and implementing dual training programs.Foster partnerships between TVET institutions, industry, and government to ensure alignment with market needs.
Promote innovation and sustainability in TVET through themes such as digitalization, greening, gender equality, and social inclusion.
Support national strategies including the Kenya Vision 2030, the TVET Blueprint, and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Dual TVET combines classroom-based learning with structured, hands-on training in the workplace. This model ensures that learners not only acquire knowledge but also the practical experience needed to thrive in today’s dynamic economy. By bridging education and industry, the Dual TVET Academy helps create a skilled, adaptable workforce that contributes to Kenya’s economic growth.
Industry-relevant skills directly aligned with labour market needs. Enhanced employability for graduates, increasing their chances of securing decent jobs. Stronger collaboration between education and industry, ensuring training remains current and future-focused.
The Academy is a Kenyan initiative, proudly led by KSTVET.
