About Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL)
To enhance the provision of flexible and blended programmes, the Open Distance and eLearning department was established and operationalized in May 2014 in line with the KSTVET Strategic Plan of 2012-2017. The department facilitates other departments within the college to develop and implement open, distance and e-learning courses. In addition, the department offers short courses to build capacity of trainers to implement flexible and blended training programmes, in addition to providing consultancy services through local and international partnerships/ collaborations.
The ODeL department manages the KSTVET’s Learning Management System (LMS), which is the platform where online training is conducted. You can access the LMS through http://elearning.kstvet.ac.ke
The ODeL department also supports management of KSTVET’s OER Repository, where staff and students access digital resources.
ODeL Policy
The purpose of KSTVET’s ODeL Policy is to help in guiding stakeholders to have quality delivery of open, distance & e-learning programmes with regard to instruction and procedures. The policy is intended to help stakeholders approach distance learning activities with the recognition of the mission to assist student trainees in their timely achievement of their professional and career goals.
