KSTVET Moiben Campus Holds Landmark Inaugural Staff Meeting and Luncheon

The Kenya School of TVET (KSTVET) Moiben Campus marked a historic milestone this week as it hosted its very first staff meeting and celebratory luncheon. The event brought together the pioneer team of educators and administrators as the campus prepares to welcome its first cohort of students.
The occasion was graced by the KSTVET CEO, Dr Edwin Tarno, and hosted by the Ag. Campus Director, Mr Helmut Munai. The day was defined by a spirit of collaboration, strategic planning, and a celebration of local heritage.
A Call for Unity and Personal Growth
In a powerful keynote address, Dr Edwin Tarno emphasized the importance of unity of effort. He encouraged staff members to be proactive in their respective roles and to work in unison to ensure the Moiben Campus becomes a centre of excellence. During his speech, the CEO also formally identified staff members who have been assigned new roles within the campus, marking a clear structure for the institution’s operations.
Beyond institutional goals, Dr Tarno urged the team to seek personal and professional development. He noted that the Moiben locale offers an abundance of opportunities for growth, encouraging members to be observant and take initiative in advancing their skills and opportunities.
The Ag. Director, Mr Helmut Munai, provided a comprehensive status update on the campus’s preparations. He briefed the team on the final arrangements for receiving students this coming Monday, ensuring that all logistical and academic frameworks are in place for a smooth commencement of the term.
The meeting also featured insightful contributions from key departmental heads:
Mr Augustine Njue (Health and Applied Sciences): Shared his vision for high-quality technical training in the health sector.
Mr Shadrack Odero (Agriculture and Environmental Sciences): Highlighted the campus’s potential to lead in sustainable agricultural innovation.

Following the formal session, the staff joined together for a celebratory luncheon. The meal served as a vital networking opportunity, allowing the new team to build the “unison” the CEO advocated for in a relaxed setting.
In a special tribute to the local culture, Mursik was served as part of the meal. This traditional delicacy was highly appreciated by the staff, symbolising the campus’s deep connection with the community and the beginning of a fruitful journey for KSTVET in Moiben.

As the doors officially open to students on Monday, the energy from the inaugural meeting suggests a bright future.

”The success of this campus depends on our collective proactive spirit. Let us work in unison to build something truly remarkable here in Moiben.” — Dr Edwin Tarno, CEO KSTVET.
